Australian Migration Visa Information
AUSTRALIAN VISA SUMMARY
Before being permitted to enter Australia, all non-Australians need to have an appropriate visa.
It is worth noting that there are approximately 140 classes of visa. Some applications can be very straight forward. However, as in many legal situations, there can be various ways of approaching a visa application, all of which may achieve the desired result but they will invariably require thorough research, careful analysis and staged planning.
There are 3 main classes of Visa, depending on how long you want to stay in Australia for:
- Permanent Residency
A Permanent Visa is for people wanting to move to Australia, to become an Australian Citizen or resident and to have full rights of employment and opportunity as an Australian. In other words, a Permanent Visa is for you if you want to be an Australian and make Australia your home.
- Temporary Residency
A Temporary Visa is for people wanting to visit Australia for a period of time, eventually returning to their home country.
- Holiday or Short Stay Visa
A Holiday or Short Stay Visa is for people who would like to visit Australia for a holiday, to visit friends or to travel.
